Gordon Vivace has been at the helm of Cucina Vivace for over three years, creating over 200 dishes for his restaurant's patrons. Now we bring this excellence home: to your home! The busy schedule faced by most families leaves them with few options that are both nutritious and exciting many nights of the week. Often the solution is expensive restaurant meals, be they eat in or take out, or mediocre delivery items with no thought toward general health. Now you have an alternative with an assurance of wholesome, hand-crafted meals sure to please your family. While our restaurant features Italian food and Gordon's overall culinary preference contains a Mediterranean flair, don't think you'll be eating Italian every night with our personal chef services. Keeping things lively for you and your family means incorporating cooking concepts and ingredients from all over the globe. We'll be designing meals to keep you eating a variety of food types for your overall good health and handing them to you in environmentally considerate, recyclable containers. While some may need attention according to the packaged directions we include with each meal, you'll generally have even the most complex dishes on the table in minutes. Please see our available packages below to determine if we might be able to help you find an affordable way to help bring your family back together at the table. Packages Once you've selected your package from the choices below, you can enjoy your meals three different ways: pick them up after 5:00 PM directly from the restaurant, have us deliver them to you at home by 7:30 PM, or enjoy your meal right in our restaurant. Just give us a call any time you'd prefer a change of scenery and wish to dine with us, be it a celebration or just an excuse to be out with the family. We'll take care of everything just as if it was a usual night out at any restaurant. You'll simply be served your planned meal instead of selecting from the menu. Of course, you're welcome to indulge and add to your meal from the restaurant offerings. Two Day Break Treat yourself to a family meal on your choice of Tuesday and Thursday or Monday and Wednesday. Three Day Helper Get over the hump with a Monday, Wednesday, Friday selection or choose Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Five Day Chef Pamper yourself and your family with five nights of gourmet dining. Why We Deliver More frequently than not, a personal chef will cook in your kitchen once per week leaving enough packaged meals with reheating instructions in your refrigerator to last until the next week. The costs seem reasonable at an average of about $300 per week "plus container costs and the cost of groceries". Container costs average $50 per week for a family of four. Groceries for that same family in all but the most frugal of menus will easily bring total costs over $500 per week. If you have severe dietary restrictions, creating your own personalized menus with a personal chef may be necessary. If you're an adventurous eater striving to eat healthy and encounter new things, however, our menus are likely to please. Cooking in our commercial kitchen with fixed menus helps keep food costs down, bring you fresher food daily, free up your refrigerator space, and allow you more daily choices through our flexible packages. Schedule Monday Meat Tuesday Vegetarian Wednesday Poultry Thursday Vegetarian/Pasta Friday Seafood Sample Menus Below are examples of what an average week might look like in summer and winter. These are not current menus, simply representative of the types of food we might publish in a weekly menu. Summer Monday Parsley and feta salad with flatbread. Grilled Angus tenderloin tip and summer squash kabobs glazed in light soy and sesame marinade served with chilled herb potato casserole. Tuesday Avocado, parmesan and black pepper stuffed tomato. Mixed veggie black truffle burger served with spice rubbed sweet potato wedges and corn relish. Wednesday Watermelon salad with cucumber champagne vinaigrette. Roasted BBQ pheasant breast served with spiced basmati rice. Thursday Mixed herb salad with tomato vinaigrette. Rotini pasta with red bell peppers, mushrooms, basil and citrus glaze. Friday Chilled crab and herb summer dip. Lemon and honey glazed grilled rockfish over roasted mixed vegetable polenta. Winter Monday Winter squash salad with maple vinaigrette. Nut crusted roasted pork tenderloin with savory fig gravy served with hearty herb mashed potato. Tuesday Lentil mushroom pate. Roasted spaghetti squash stuffed with its own unique fibers, tomato, onion, mild peppers and a dash of cream. Wednesday Watercress potato soup. Cornish hen stuffed with chestnut dressing served with roasted vegetables. Thursday Spicy zucchini casserole. Ricotta and herb stuffed manicotti baked with chunky tomato salsa. Friday Chilled calamari salad with roasted pine nut and ginger tapenade. Miso glazed broiled halibut served with root vegetable mash and seasoned snap peas. Prices Prices are per person, per week, and include the cost of groceries.
For example, two people with complete two course meals delivered for the Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday option of the Three Day Helper would be charged $78 x 2 = $156, exclusive of sales tax with no additional charges, for the entire week. A family of three with complete two course meals delivered for the Monday, Wednesday, Friday option of the Three Day Helper would be charged $90 x 3 = $270, exclusive of sales tax with no additional charges, for the entire week. Services are offered with a minimum commitment of one month for two or more people. The prices listed are currently restricted to Arlington and Alexandria, VA. Additional delivery fees may apply outside those areas. Taxes are not included and will be applied to your weekly credit card payment. Restaurant dining requests for pick up customers are subject to tip payment on the base amount. Restaurant dining requests for delivery customers will have the delivery charge for that day credited to their tip.
